Akol Maiwen sets up his brother, Diing Maiwen, for an alley-oop slam during the third quarter of the Class AA North boys basketball final against Windham on Saturday at the Cross Insurance Arena in Portland. The Red Eddies fell to Windham 55-49. Diing Maiwen scored a game-high 17 points and was named the most outstanding player of the tournament.

No. 2 Windham (17-4) will look to defend its Class AA title next Saturday at the CIA against the South winner, either No. 2 South Portland or No. 4 Bonny Eagle. Windham starters senior Creighty Dickson, and juniors AJ Moody and Tyrie James were all key contributors to the 2024 title team.

In a thrilling boys basketball Class AA North semifinal matchup, Edward Little High School pulled off a stunning upset, defeating top-seeded Cheverus High School 47-44.
