Erin continues to grow in size, and its impacts from high surf, rip currents and coastal flooding are already increasing along parts of the East Coast. Here's the latest forecast.
As of Tuesday morning, a storm surge watch is in effect for oceanside areas along the Outer Banks, along with a tropical storm watch for most of coastal North Carolina, The News & Observer previously reported, with evacuations underway for multiple counties.
Weather conditions are expected to deteriorate along the coast of North Carolina on Aug. 20 due to Hurricane Erin, according to the NHC.
