The visit comes as the U.S. hopes to break the logjam in Gaza cease-fire talks and scrambles to contain the fallout from an Israeli strike on the U.S. ally.
Netanyahu and Rubio are expected to discuss Israel's plan to seize control of Gaza City, the largest city in the Gaza Strip, according to ABC News. Israel last week ordered residents to evacuate, saying the Israeli military would operate "with great force" within the city, the news network also reports.
