Water service returns ‘shortly’ in Southwest Detroit neighborhood devastated by flood
The water pipes are repaired in the Southwest Detroit neighborhood that just weeks ago was frozen in floodwaters from a 54-inch water main break. As of Wednesday, repairs were completed on the Great Lakes Water Authority’s 93-year-old water transmission main.
City officials, including Detroit City Council Member Gabriela Santiago-Romero, continue to go door-to-door to help the community to ensure the process runs smoothly.
