Druze citizens of Israel demonstrate in multiple locations and block a major highway in call for the Israeli government to do more to protect Syria's Druze community from attacks by the Syrian government.

In Syria, Israel launched rare attacks on forces of the new government, while in Lebanon it took aim at the Iran-backed militant group Hezbollah.

The Israel Defense Forces said it targeted Syrian government military vehicles, including tanks and armoured personnel carriers, in Sweida province, where Israel says it has been acting in defence of the minority Druze community.

Syria's defense minister announced a ceasefire in Sweida in southern Syria after reaching an agreement with local leaders on Tuesday. Earlier, Druze spiritual leaders in Sweida called on armed Druze factions to cooperate with government forces and surrender their weapons to the Syrian government.
