Rockstar has made the surprise announcement that it’s now officially working with the modding team behind the wildly popular Grand Theft Auto 5 roleplay servers FiveM and RedM.

FiveM and RedM developer Cfx.re is now part of Rockstar Games, showing the Grand Theft Auto developer’s interest in GTA Online and Red Dead Online role-play servers.

Of course, FiveM is more than GTA RP. FiveM is, by design, a modification for Grand Theft Auto 5 that allows you to play multiplayer on customised, dedicated servers.

FiveM will give modders dedicated servers to play online, completely independent of Rockstar’s own online servers. Via these servers, they will be able to play with any mods they want.
