AT&T has announced that it will acquire certain wireless spectrum licenses from EchoStar for approximately $23 billion.

Part of the firm's efforts to resolve FCC inquiries and boost its balance sheet, it "puts our business on a solid financial path," says CEO and president Hamid Akhavan.
