A US judge issued an emergency order early Saturday blocking Elon Musk's government reform team from accessing personal and financial data for millions of Americans stored at the Treasury Department,

The temporary ruling by U.S. District Judge John Bates in Washington, D.C., is the first step in a lawsuit against the Labor Department by one of the largest U.S. labor unions, which alleges billionaire Musk could obtain sensitive information about investigations into his own companies and competitors by accessing government computer systems.

Despite voicing skepticism about giving DOGE access to sensitive Labor data on millions of Americans, a judge denied unions’ request for a restraining order blocking Elon Musk’s group.

Internal email lists and other documents and interviews provide the widest view so far of who is working in DOGE — and officials inside other agencies with Musk connections.
