The Denver Broncos' preseason is officially in the books. On Saturday, the Broncos vanquished the New Orleans Saints 28-19, punctuating the summer with a third straight August victory.
"The Broncos look like they have a solid starting quarterback in Bo Nix and have arguably the NFL's best offensive line and best defense, led by star cornerback Pat Surtain II. What a turnaround for coach Sean Payton and general manager George Paton," wrote Ben Solak, who discussed Denver's reasons for hope.
Stidham romped through the preseason (30-of-38 passing for 376 yards and four touchdown passes in the first two games), but Nix has moved through the offseason and camp as the unquestioned starter. Payton likes Sam Ehlinger 's athleticism and competitiveness, so the fourth-year veteran is a practice squad possibility.
