Typhoon Kajiki has brought strong winds and heavy rain to southern China's Hainan island and parts of Guangdong province.

Typhoon Kajiki downed trees and disrupted power in China’s Hainan Island on Monday (August 25), as strong winds and heavy rain swept through the southern province, state broadcaster CCTV reported.

In Vietnam, tens of thousands of people are being evacuated as Typhoon Kajiki strikes the central coast. The storm, with winds reaching around 160 kilometers per hour, is expected to hit land on Monday afternoon.
