Gene Hackman's 'Unforgiven' costars Clint Eastwood, Morgan Freeman and Frances Fisher are paying tribute to the Oscar winner after he and his wife were found dead on Feb. 26.

Legendary actor Gene Hackman and his wife Betsy Arakawa were found dead Wednesday in their New Mexico home, along with their dog, in circumstances officials deemed “suspicious enough” to warrant thorough investigation.

The intense character actor who won two Oscars in a more than 60-year career, died of unknown causes at home, along with his wife Betsy Arakawa as well as one of their dogs.

Morgan Freeman describes the actor as "incredibly gifted" while Clint Eastwood said he was "extremely saddened" by the news.

A two-time Academy Award winner and a dogged Everyman in many of his roles, Hackman was remembered by collaborators and co-stars after his death.
