LANSING, MI -- A player in Missouri and a player in Texas have won the second largest lottery prize in U.S. history. The players each matched all five white balls and the Powerball in the Powerball drawing held on Sept. 6, to win the $1.78 billion jackpot.
A Michigan Powerball player won $1 million, while the $1.787 billion jackpot was split between Missouri and Texas winners.
As of Friday, the lump sum payout for the $1.8 billion Powerball was $770.3 million, according to Michigan Lottery spokesman Jake Harris.
