Clutching a small piece of paper, LaNasa went on to thank all the nurses that inspired her Dana Evans character, her family at "The Pitt," her children and husband, actor Grant Show. She then let out a celebratory yell, raised up her Emmy and bowed before being escorted off stage.
LaNasa was up against a stacked group of women, including Patricia Arquette, Julianne Nicholson, and a host of actresses from The White Lotus, including Carrie Coon, Parker Posey, Natasha Rothwell and Aimee Lou Wood.
The Pitt series, which was released earlier this year, became an instant hit with its intense storyline featuring the emergency room of Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center.
LaNasa, 58, who grew up in Baton Rouge, is up for best supporting actress in a drama series for the critically acclaimed freshman medical drama starring Noah Wyle.
