Currently, all national park visitors are subject to the same entry fee structure, but the Trump administration wants to charge foreign tourists more.

Nonetheless, Trump’s order calls for efforts to increase visitor capacity at America’s national parks, invest in infrastructure at the sites, and improve park access to American families by ensuring they “receive priority access in any permitting or reservation systems.”

Trump’s order instructs Interior Secretary Doug Burgum to “develop a strategy” to increase entrance and pass fees at national parks for non-U.S. residents. This includes hiking up the price of the America the Beautiful Pass, which covers entrance and day-use fees at all federally managed recreation sites, for international visitors.
