SpaceX attempting another Starship launch today
Seven weeks after an explosion sent pieces of SpaceX's Starship launch vehicle falling into the Atlantic, the company is trying again this evening. The more than 400-foot Starship, powered by 33 Raptor engines, is scheduled for launch no earlier than 6:30 p.m. ET from SpaceX's launchpad at its Starbase facility near Brownsville, Texas.
The eighth flight test of Starship is preparing to launch Thursday, March 6, from Starbase in Texas. The one-hour launch window opens at 6:30 p.m. ET.
SpaceX CEO Elon Musk said Sunday there’s a “lot to learn on this flight.” It will be the second of 2025 and eighth overall.
