Utah Gov. Spencer Cox alleged Thursday that Russian and Chinese bots are seeking to foment civil strife in the wake of the fatal shooting of American conservative commentator Charlie Kirk.
On Thursday, Sept. 11, Utah Governor Spencer Cox held a press conference to discuss the arrest of the suspect. Cox explained that law enforcement has received over 7,000 tips so far. He noted that it is the largest number of tips the FBI has received since the Boston Marathon bombing in 2013.

As the FBI manhunt for Charlie Kirk‘s shooter continues, investigators and state officials held a press conference with more information. Utah’s Gov. Spencer Cox warned as he spoke to reporters not to be fooled by the “tremendous amounts of disinformation” as unfounded theories about the identity of the killer run rampant on social media.
Spencer Cox confirmed the State of Utah will be pursuing the death penalty for the assassin of Charlie Kirk at the press conference on September 11. With this announcement, the law enforcement also released a new video of the incident where the suspected shooter is seen jumping from the building roof.
