The Cleveland Cavaliers trailed the Boston Celtics by 22 points with 7:12 left in the first quarter – and came back to win, 123-116, at TD Garden. They also left no doubt who should be atop the Arizona Republic’s latest power rankings.

One game after blowing a 22-point lead and losing to the NBA-best Cleveland Cavaliers, the Celtics coughed up most of a 20-point lead against Denver, the No. 2 team in the West. The Nuggets, who trailed 59-39 in the final minutes of the first half, scored 10 straight points near the end of the third to cut a 15-point lead to five.

On Sunday afternoon, the Boston Celtics swept the Denver Nuggets in their 2024-25 regular season series. After the game, the Celtics surprised teams by waiving their 2024 second-round pick Anton Watson.

Jaylen Brown led the Celtics with 22 points, and Al Horford contributed 19 points and eight rebounds. Derrick White and Horford played key roles down the stretch.
