Gift cards are one of the most popular gifts to give, but more and more gift cards are being used as the number one tool for scammers. If someone asks you to pay in gift cards, it's probably a scam.

In this case, police say the victim purchased $1,400 in eBay gift cards and gave the seller the redemption code on the back. That meant the scam artist could use the cards how every he wished.

He then read the back of the gift cards that said not to share any of the card's information with another person. He also called eBay which said it was a scam.
