The Catholic Church has set the feast days for St. Carlo Acutis as Oct. 12 and St. Pier Giorgio Frassati as July 4. The two young men were canonized Sept. 7 by Pope Leo XIV in St. Peter’s Square at the Vatican.
It was only their first day on the job as canonized saints, but Carlo Acutis and Pier Giorgio Frassati were already fulfilling their roles of drawing people to Christ.
He said of Frassati, “Pier Giorgio’s life is a beacon for lay spirituality. For him, faith was not a private devotion, but it was driven by the power of the Gospel and his membership in ecclesial associations. He was also generously committed to society, contributed to political life and devoted himself ardently to the service of the poor.”
A group of Angelenos led by Bishop Matthew Elshoff joined 80,000 pilgrims in Rome to celebrate the Catholic Church’s two newest saints.
