Two hurricanes currently spinning in the Pacific could have impacts on the United States, including Hurricane Lorena which will bring heavy rain to Texas.
Tropical Storm Lorena is expected to approach Mexico's Baja California peninsula Friday before its remnants trigger heavy rains to Texas.
The National Hurricane Center designated a tropical wave in the eastern Atlantic as Invest 91L, Thursday afternoon, Sept. 4.
Remnants are currently moving into El Paso and Far West Texas and will bring showers through early Saturday, Sept. 6.
The greatest threat in Texas is across El Paso and Far West Texas, though other areas of the state could see 1 to 5 inches of rain, raising the potential for isolated flooding. Central and South Texas could expect to see rainfall from lingering moisture this weekend into early next week.
