Alembic exploiter explorer bass - TalkBass.com
Jul 9, 2008 · Alembic model designations can be confusing. The Exploiter model was basically a shape change to the Spoiler or Persuader model of bass. But with Alembic, most any model can get an electronics upgrade and then, technically, be a different model.
Alembic pickups thread - TalkBass.com
Jul 27, 2009 · Alembic no longer makes the Spoiler model, so I emailed them for advice on what might work. But if I go with other-than-Alembic pickups, I really have no idea what comes close. As far as tone, I have always considered the aggressive, somewhat dirty 1970s tones of Phil Lesh to be my all-time favorite, and I generally do not play this bass with a ...
After 10 years of waiting, It's on!!! The Alembic FL-105
Dec 18, 2021 · Alembic is putting out a pedal based of the the SF-2 based on the rackmount version with two extra filter versions. I don't think Alembic has released them yet and since it is Alembic, they are not cheap though I feel like Ralphie when he came across that Red Ryder BB gun in that movie "A Christmas Story". Anyway, here are the links and picks.
Alembic Owners--The Essence vs. The Spoiler - TalkBass.com
Jun 12, 2011 · Many Alembic owners get their feet wet with Epics, Essences, Spoilers or Persuaders, only to find themselves lusting for more options later on. I started with an Epic, went to Essence, added a Q and later dabbled in Signature and Rogue electronics.
Fender vs Alembic - TalkBass.com
Feb 26, 2013 · Good conditioned late '70s Alembic Series I or Series II go for around $4,500 - 5,500. It is a 32" scale, which is rare and a blast to play. 32" scale typically slides the price upward a bit, but more so with the small bodied Alembics like the '79 Series II that I had and sold.

John Paul Jones' Alembic electric bass - TalkBass.com
Jul 25, 2021 · His 4-string Series II is pure Alembic. There's a video somewhere online in which he refers to it as a "nice piece of kit" - understated as ever, Mr. JPJ. The 8 string has more of a hybrid/ambiguous Becvar/Alembic pedigree, so to speak. I think even JPJ has referred to it as both brands in various interviews.
Alembic SF-2: What exactly is it for? - TalkBass.com
Oct 9, 2007 · What dmusic148 is describing is how the filters work on the Alembic basses. The SF-2 can be set to act just like that, but more commonly I use it in an additive fashion. It can pile it on as well as take it away. And the best part is, it makes spectacular sounds.
Anyone using an Alembic SF-2? - TalkBass.com
Jun 14, 2009 · I ended up custom ordering an ACG Recurve SC(haven't gotten it yet). I put an ACG EQ-01 into an MTD KX6(drastically improves this bass). I ended up purchasing an Alembic Essence(ended up trading it because it wasn't very comfortable to play, sounded great though). I recently came across an Alembic SF-2 for a decent price.
Kawai FIIB vs. Alembic - TalkBass.com
Jun 19, 2004 · An Alembic sounds like an Alembic, the controls of course influence the tone but the basic voice of an Alembic is unique. The Kawai looked good, seemed well built, and could serve as a stand in if you don't need those high frets or that Alembic tone. I am sure Alembic pickups would fix the tone differences, but those are hardly cheap.
