President of the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies (DI). He previously served as Dean of the School of Social Sciences and Humanities (2017-2020) and Head of the Politics and International Relations Program (2015-2017) at the DI.

The winter school aims to provide an in-depth and critical look at selected topics in the broader study of the Middle East. For participating early career scholars, it provides an opportunity to network with regional scholars, gain substantive knowledge and insight unavailable in their home institutions and countries, and receive feedback from respected scholars.

The Arab Center conducts a number of applied and theoretical research programs and projects in areas of interest to the Center’s overall research agenda in the Social Sciences and Humanities.

Professor at the Faculty of Law, Economics and Social Science at the Mohammed V University in Rabat. He received his PhD in Law at the Universite Paris II and lectured in Moroccan and French universities before being tasked with a ministerial portfolio for education between 1998 and 2000, and then served as Minister for Education until 2002.
